My name is Garrett Richardson, better known as Mr. G to the adults and youth I serve, and my life's work is committed to using mentoring as a transformative tool to improve the life outcomes of boys and young men of color. I've spent over a decade in schools serving low income communities, designing, implementing, and evaluating programming in order to transform an organization’s culture and climate. During my time in K-12 education, as a teacher, a mentor and a Director of Community Relations for Johns Hopkins University, I've always held this deep rooted belief that sustainable solutions to any school's or organization’s most pressing problems must involve and engage students and parents. In order for that to happen, we must get proximal and allow peer influence, with mentoring supports, to transform a community from the inside out.

My name is Daniel Russell. My work involves engaging with school and district leaders to develop and deliver a customized set of research-based activities to drive school improvement. In various roles I have provided leadership coaching and school transformation support to numerous school districts. And I have successfully led turnaround efforts in a network of underperforming schools using evidence based strategies as an Executive Director with The Johns Hopkins University School of Education. I work directly with principals, school district leaders, higher education practitioners, and their leadership teams to help them define ambitious goals, manage for execution, implement rigorous “people practices,” build capacity, and strengthen competencies in areas of need. I have worked to train and support leadership teams in Boston, New York, Philadelphia, New Jersey, Baltimore, Washington D.C., The U.S. Virgin Islands, and Guam.
